Wow. What an amazing three years. It's hard to believe in just two short days I'll celebrate my 3rd Anniversary. It just doesn't seem like three years. Well except for the growing pains I've experienced, especially in the last year.
South Street will always be special to me. I spent countless hours alongside Joe and Keri Bath preparing the shop to open. Lots of smiles, laughter, stress, and tears were shed. This little shop has surpassed my wildest dreams. I never thought I'd leave South Street. I recall several conversations offering me the Loft location. No street access. No visibility. Signage? But after two years of temptation, the idea took root.
South Street Wine Cellar works tirelessly to offer events for the artist and wine lover in each of us. Not necessarily always together. Because, lets face it, the Annual Mingle and Jingle and other tasting events are a blast. But I had to work two nights to accommodate 60 people. How exciting is it that there will be availability to double that size IN JUST ONE NIGHT?!
So this big move is happening. Soon! Crazy soon. I am so excited. Things change. Life changes. I didn't even realize I wanted to move until early March. I was preparing to expand and any way I drew it up, I was adding roughly four seats. That didn't really justify the expense this remodel was going to cost (because we know there's always extra expenses). But the Universe and God kept throwing these crazy things at me. Great buys on seating, a wine slushy margarita machine... to name a few. I've always listened to my instinct. My instinct led the gentleman dangling the Loft carrot directly past my shop. That was all the sign I needed. But boy were there a million other signs. Absolutely!
So by the time you read this and have corrected all my grammar and punctuation you'll know the scoop. I will be closing the 41 North South Street location Saturday, May 12 to finish the preparations for the 64 Main Street location. South Street Wine Cellar will reopen as Wine Cellar at 64 Main Street on Friday, May 18, just in time for the Wine Walk.
The all important question?
Will my business still be named South Street Wine Cellar?
Yes. With the exception of dropping the South Street from that awesome recognizable logo. Without boring you on the details... my URL for the website is tied into SSWC as well as my LLC Registration.
Before logging off, I have to say thank you to each and every one of you. From attending events, to sharing my posts, commenting, telling your friends, sharing your wines and project photos on social media. Without you, this would not be happening. There's a part of each and everyone of you in South Street Wine Cellar. Words could never describe how honored I am to have served you and I can't wait to serve you in the new location with so much more room for wine gift items you've been asking for. You simply are the best.
